“ Grimace is a large, purple being of indeterminate species with short arms and legs; he is known for his monotonous face and slow-witted demeanor.

His most common expression is the word “duh”. Originally, Grimace was the “Evil Grimace”, with two pairs of arms with which to steal milkshakes. After that first campaign, the character was revised to be one of the “good guys”, and his number of arms was reduced by two. Commercials and merchandise generally portrayed him as a well-meaning simpleton, whose clumsy antics provided a comic foil to Ronald McDonald.

I wonder if he’s any relation to Barney… especially if they are “evil”… Kinda like a big, purple “Axis of Evil”.

Super Powers

peterwknox:bagcoffee:mzchristine:bagcoffee:lovepuppy:

Flight or Invisibility? What do you choose?
EDIT: After you choose, listen to this.

This is the CLASSIC superpowers question, and one I have spent an embarrassingly large portion of my life contemplating already. However, at its core, this question is incredibly simple.

I choose FLIGHT.

Now, I can immediately bring to mind hundreds of scenarios I would enjoy with access to invisibility, but sadly, most of them are rather immoral, unethical, and ultimately evil. How many people do you see naked or banks do you rob before you spiral downwards into Hollow Man? If you’re invisible then you’re spending your powers going places you’re not supposed to go in the first place. I don’t have that moral self control to try to turn my powers into good. Even “invisible solider” is questionable, ethically. I can’t think of many solid unselfish uses for this power of invisibility.

Meanwhile, since seeing my first bird as a child, I’ve always wanted to fly. It just looks fun, right? All of a sudden, I’d be no longer limited by gravity or transportation. My carbon footprint would disappear as I’d soar off into the sky. I’d be popular, flying my friends around town and being able to visit those I’m close to emotionally but not by proximity. I’d see the world at only the expense of No-Dose. I’d be great at sports, and nothing would hold me back from even the most extreme of rope walking, rock climbs, base jumps, and extreme sports. I’d be famous, recognizable, endorsing Vitamin Water. I could save people from falling off buildings, rescue orphans from burning warehouses, deliver water to disaster victims. My flight would make a positive difference whereas my being invisible would lead me down a destructive path. And at the same time, I’d be having FUN flying around, like I’ve always wanted. It wouldn’t even matter what borough I lived in!

That’s why I want to fly. That’s why, when I wake up, walk out of my building, and try a little inconspicuous jump down the sidewalk, there’s just a little residual hope left over from childhood dreams, maybe today’s the day I get my wings.

I’m for “flight” as well, but funny thing is:
most of my family and co-workers seem to want to be “invisible”. Weird.
